In 1993 Mike and Gail Dietsch found themselves with their large family raised and their old farmhouse empty and quiet. With all of their baby birds out of the nest, they found that they missed all of the activity and decided to open their home to unmet friends. This was the beginning of “Dietsch's Empty Nest.” After twelve years of operating a Bed and Breakfast, Mike and Gail have decided to move to a smaller nest to enjoy retirement. One of their baby birds has grown up and flown back to take over the business they have established. A second generation is now residing in the family home and continuing with the traditions of Dietsch's Empty Nest that guests have come to expect and enjoy.
With backgrounds in the hospitality industry, both Paul and Natasha continue to provide the same warm and comfortable atmosphere established by Paul's parents. We are able to provide suggestions about where to go and what to see while visiting the area.
A country breakfast is served in our family kitchen. The menu is designed to satisfy both the small and hearty appetite. Items such as fresh local fruit, homemade granola, preserves, homemade baked goods and a hot entrée can all be enjoyed over conversations exchanged about Shaw plays and local folklore from your host Paul, a lifetime resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
We look forward to having you visit the Dietsch Family home.
